The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past(Day 2)

Man, another 'late' update. Well I suppose there's no harm, considering my current reader base. Don't worry though, tomorrow's update will not only be on time, but super long. I have a lot planned... but for now, this is what you get!

W-what? Is Link.. praying? WHAT ARE YOU DOING, LINK!? STOP IT MAN, GET A HOLD OF YOURSELF!

O. M. G. It worked? THE POWER OF PRAYER, IT IS PROVEN! DON'T LET THOSE ATHEISTS LIE TO YOU FOLKS, SITTING ON YOUR ASS AND PRAYING FOR SOMETHING TO HAPPEN REALLY WORKS! DON'T DO ANYTHING ON YOUR OWN(Alienating any potential religious readers I could have had in one strike)!

You're probably asking... 'Wow, you skipped right to getting the boss key? What about all the stuff that happens between entering and grabbing it!?' There is nothing, ffs. You know, that's something I always found funny. In the later Zelda games, you don't get the boss key until they very end. It's the very last thing. It takes you about twenty or more minutes. But in these? It's pretty much the first thing you get. It took me four minutes.

The special item of this dungeon? One that allows you to pick up rocks. Yeeeeep.

Hmmm... this is odd. This will require me to use the most of my cunn-

Oh. Okay then.

Pfft. Three? THREE!? A small number. The last dungeon had me face far many more foes!

*Proceeds to get his ass rammed*FFFFFUUUUUU-

Medal get! Another step closer to the ultimate victory folks. Surely, Zelda wouldn't refuse giving us h-... nevermind.

Cya tomorrow.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past(Day 1)

So very, very sorry about the late update folks. By the time this gets posted, it'll be Friday. I was just having one of those days, and you guys know how that is, right? :Note to self, buy stress ball: Don't worry though, Friday will still get it's own update(Wait... who am I apologizing to? I don't even have any readers yet).

Now... let's get down to business, shall we?

Yes, yes. Unoriginal, I know. But that's how I've done it in every Zelda game since I was a kid. I mean, come on. His name is Link! You gotta do it right(Plus, I'm just not that good at coming up with funny names)!

Also, sorry ahead of time. Due to the time of this post, plus my still high stress levels, there won't be much commentary in this one. I need to hurry this one out and get to bed.

What's this? A princess? Trapped in a dungeon? IN A ZELDA GAME(Or any video game for that matter)!? Just one of the many shockers that await us. Truly we shall be on the edge of our seats about where the plot is going.

You know, this was something that honestly always bugged me as a kid. No, really. Why in the hell is there a chest in there with Zelda? Who would put that in a jail cell? It doesn't make any sense. Hell, there being heart jars in the unlocked jail cell makes even less sense(Since when do we want our prisoners to be healthy).

For some reason, this part of the game freaked me out as a kid(I was easily spooked, what can I say). I mean... it's dark! And there's rats, and snakes... and bats... hell. It still freaks me out. A little. Maybe.

To those wondering: Yes. I did pull the wrong switch first. Yes. I am a fucking idiot.

Wooooo. Just like a woman, already trying to rope him into marriage. Amirite? ...nope. Not really. I should be slapped for this, really.

I did quite a bit between things here. Grabbed six heart pieces, the ice rod, that magic sack, the bottles, etc. Where are the pictures you ask? Fuck you. Just fuck you. Also: Lol blueballs.

WHAT'S THIS? YOU NEED THE SPECIAL ITEM OF THE DUNGEON TO KILL CERTAIN ENEMIES IN A ZELDA GAME!? THE TWISTS, THEY NEVER END(Though snark aside, this would be one of the first times, huh)!

As opposed to...?

I'd feel sorry for Link, but he knew what he was getting into when he signed up for the business of rescuing Princesses.

Booya. One down, two... well... technically not, seeing as how there is... oh fuck it. There's a lot left to do. Sorry once again for the rushed/unfunny post guys! Or guy. Or... that google bot passing by.*Cough*

Cya again in a few hours.

The fun begins!

Well... not really. Not yet. Instead, this first post shall be dedicated to what this blog is all about.

I love old school retro games. Always have. There is nothing better than sitting down with a Super Nintendo and enjoying some 16-bit goodness. Well, except maybe some 8-bit goodness with the NES(I grew up with Nintendo, sue me).

One day I was sitting around rather bored, and this idea dawned on me. I should play every old school game released. NES, SNES and Genesis to be specific. I'll most likely add more consoles as time goes on(I'm looking at you, N64). Most of my ideas usually just get shoved away but this time I decided to go through with it.

It's going to be a long journey. There are many games to play. I've made a "little" check list, containing all the games from the three consoles currently in the running. When I finish with a game, it'll be checked off and I'll move on to whatever I feel like playing next(If I get enough readers, eventually I'll start letting people vote on what I play next).

Now... to those wondering, 'How is he going to get all these games? Some are expensive/rare/impossible to get?' Let's not be naive, shall we? When possible, I will buy the game(Though I already own quite a few). My local Vintage Stock has quite the selection. As does Ebay and Amazon. Though sometimes, there will be games that I just can't buy. I'd say an example would be the Nintendo World Championship carts, but the amazing site retrousb.com just starting selling reproduction carts. But still. For those that I find just impossible to get, I'll still play them... but, y'know.

Also, I will be playing all the games using an emulator. Yes, even the ones I already own and the ones I am going to buy. This makes it easier for me to take screenshots and videos. I understand some of the feel will be lost by doing this, but... for a project this size it seems necessary. I will however, still be playing the games with their original controllers, once again thanks to the great work done by retrousb.com(No, I have nothing to do with them, even if I am plugging them a lot in this post).

Now on to the schedule. Game updates will be posted every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Wednesday will be eventually be devoted to a as of right now unrevealed project, and Sundays will be devoted to wrapping up the progress made that week.

Now... for the moment you've all been waiting for. The first game to be played is...

See you guys tomorrow.
